Yazeed Alshammari is the Director of the Sedrah Program at the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (MEWA), where he leads Saudi Arabia’s first dedicated environmental innovation and entrepreneurship initiative.

Sedrah is designed to empower startups and innovators solving pressing environmental challenges, from desertification and biodiversity loss to climate resilience. Under his leadership, the program has launched international accelerator cohorts, formed partnerships with leading universities like Stanford and Cambridge, and hosted global investor roadshows to attract sustainability-focused capital to the Kingdom.

With over a decade of experience spanning venture capital, government, and the private sector, Yazeed previously served as Partner and Head of Saudi Innovation at MSA Novo, a UAE-based investment firm focused on emerging markets. He also played a key role at the Ministry of Investment (MISA), where he spearheaded the Venture Initiative, unlocking over SAR 2.9 billion in FDI and bringing top-tier venture capital firms such as 500 Startups and SoftBank into the Saudi ecosystem.

An active angel investor, Yazeed has backed over 20 startups and served as a strategic advisor to firms and funds across the region. His academic background includes a Bachelor’s in Finance and Economics and a Master’s in International Trade from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing, China.

Yazeed’s work reflects a strong commitment to Vision 2030 by bridging public policy, private capital, and entrepreneurial energy to create lasting economic and environmental impact.
