Dr. Shivagami Gugan is a Technologist and Aviation Specialist with extensive experience in transforming mission-critical systems into modern architectures. Having built Organizational strategies and having led the Software Engineering, SRE, DecSecOps and Cloud departments at the Emirates Group for more than two decades, she derives inspiration when technology advancements are applied rightly and with purpose to deliver business value. She is a pragmatic Technology Transformation Leader who seeks to apply Data Engineering, Machine Learning, AI, Reliability Engineering and Cloud Architectures for long-standing growth and sustainability of businesses. She is a Lead Ambassador of the DevOps Institute, the CNCF and Linux Foundations, the lead author of the SRE practitioner and Observability courses and a principal speaker at international events. At Amazon Web Services, she is the Chief Technologist for Middle East, Turkey and Africa and is globally recognized as a Data/AI/ML/GenAI/Agentic AI Leader who specializes in bringing about large-scale transformation of Governments and Large Enterprises. Shivagami was awarded the "Woman of Excellence" by the Government of India for her outstanding contribution towards Technology Innovation and AI towards and contributing to Nation building activities. She is also the Vice-chair of the prestigious Steering Committee of the United Nations (UNO) AI for Good global initiative, where she is a key decision maker in selecting UNO sponsored AI projects to eradicate poverty and digital divide globally.
