Samir is the CEO and Co-founder of SunCulture, a leading agriculture and climate technology organization serving several markets across sub-Saharan Africa. SunCulture helps smallholder farmers grow more food with climate technology, carbon financing, and a digital marketplace, and is the largest solar irrigation company in Africa. The company is backed by investors including Reed Hastings and Eric Schmidt, was selected by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer, and has been named one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company. Recently, SunCulture announced a new investment partnership with WaterEquity who works with the non-profit organization Water.org— both co-founded by Gary White and Matt Damon—to expand access to climate-resilient water solutions for rural communities across sub-Saharan Africa.
