Marie-Rose Mukahirwa

Senior Vice President, Head of Products, Humanitarian and Development , MASTERCARD

Marie-Rose Mukahirwa is Senior Vice President, Growth Segments at Mastercard. In this role, she oversees the innovation, development and scaling of products and services specifically designed for low-income segments. She works with financial institutions, international development organizations, technology and other private sector companies to enable digital inclusion using a network of offline services for underserved communities that unlock new opportunities for service providers and drive commercial growth and social impact for partners and customers.

Prior to this role, Marie-Rose led the roll-out and commercialization of Mastercard’s Farm Pass digital platform in multiple countries. Before that she led the Customer Delivery team for Mobile Payment Solutions, a joint venture of Mastercard and Smart Hub, Inc. Under her leadership, Mastercard deployed Mobile Payment ecosystems to facilitate mobile payments for consumers in emerging economies.

Marie-Rose’s long career with Mastercard has included roles in Europe and the Middle East, where she held a variety of regional and global leadership roles. Passionate about fostering community and belonging, she leads the EEMEA Heritage Community, which encompass both the ARAB Employee Resource Group (ERG) and the Leading Employees of African Descent (LEAD) ERG. She previously served as co-lead of LEAD EEMEA and was a member of the Women Leadership Network (WLN) leadership in MEA, championing initiatives that empower women and underrepresented groups.

Marie-Rose holds an MBA with a dual specialization in Innovation Entrepreneurship and International Management from Northeastern University, United States and a Master's in Electrical Engineering from Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. She is fluent in English and French.
